So long and goodbye :)

Many old blogger friends have also come and gone, making me view blogging as perhaps a transitional phase in our lives. Perhaps we need blogs in our teens and as we make the transition from school to work, but as we shed our skins and become working professionals, we tend to leave our blogger personalities behind. - Ridjal (Podah.com).

I guess both you and I have come to a conclusion that I have been a rather fickle blogger these past few months. In no way will I contest that opinion for even I accept that very fact. Five years ago, I would have no qualms in spending hours jotting down my thoughts and emotions. Today, things have changed.

Blogging no longer gives me the kicks like it used to, and I am no longer that interested in actively engaging myself in online communities. Likewise, an increase in statistics or monetary pay-off does not leave me with a sense of satisfaction. Thus, due to all of the above and so much more, I have decided to end the Fingersdontfing.com that all of you have come to love/hate.

I could have just left my last entry as the one before this, but because throughout these five years I have made numerous friends and acquaintances whose only means of ‘catching up’ with me is through this site, I feel that I should say a formal goodbye to everyone. After all, no one likes to be left hanging, yes?

(BTW no, this is not a joke. I’m downright serious. So please continue read this lengthy entry for these are the final words that I have to say. Thanks aight!)

Exhausted.

Day in, day out, doing the exact same things just so that I can feed my needs. How I wish I could run away and have a good, long break, free of ANY responsibilities and just have a jolly good time…

Sadly life isn’t as such and well, a girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do. Sigh… Wish I was a kid again :’(

4 Day Work Week.

I campaign for a 4 days work week! This is so that the weekends will last for 3 days, leaving ample time for me to divide it between people close to heart. Friday for friends, Saturday for the boyfriend and Sunday for the family :) I think that the proportion is just nice and sounds more appealing as opposed to 5-2 which is SO unbalanced.

Anyone wanna vote me as the next MP? Kekeke…

P/s. ***** prices up 10% :( I just hope I can save up on time to avoid another rise in prices.

Interesting MRT Ride Three.

It is a common consensus that the Mrt holds host to many bewildering stories on human behavior. Other than the lively discussions we’ve had on Mrt Rides Part 1 and Part 2, a scroll through Stomp.sg will give one endless food for thought on what kind on characters exist in Singapore nowadays. For a moment I’d like to step aside from the chaos of depraved teenage boys or broken-hearted Minahs, and look at the ‘normal’ commuters aboard.

I think that many of us are in the same boat, where, bored out of our wits sitting in a seemingly endless journey, our eyes start roving about looking at the people around. While some like to give a once-over on a person’s clothes and move on, I have this thing where I would ’study’ the person. This means that I would look at his clothes, his behavior, and from there, make a deduction on his lifestyle or history.

Of course, I know in the end that my deductions are baseless and can never be proven, but it just gives me a kick to feel as if I can read this stranger sitting in front of me. I feel that if I keep this conclusions to myself, and always keep a reminder that my thoughts are purely fiction, I cause no harm to anyone.

I know.

After all that has been said and will be said, the bottom line is that I know. And it hurts me so bad but I’ll live with it. For now.

All done!

Stepping On Glass.

Sometimes, I cannot help feeling that some people are saying or doing things just to piss me off or step on my toes unnecesarily. Thanks for effectively spoiling my morning, kindly do it every morning k :)

Timestamp.

If you would have realized, this blog of mine which was not too long ago gathering dust is now back in full form, with entries every single day for the past two - three weeks (with photos, somemore!). Some of my friends have asked how come I suddenly have so much energy to blog every single day, given the fact that I return home at 9 - 10pm on most days.

Well, the truth is that I DON’T blog every single day! In fact, I now usually blog on one weekend in the week, for a few hours straight haha. The tactic that I am trying out now is to just go enjoy life on weekdays, gather all the photos and try to retain as much memory as I can and jot it all down during the weekend which I am free. In order to not waste all the details into one long dreary entry, I split them up and time stamp the entries to be published automatically daily.

As the sun sets,

As the sun sets, turning day into night, we are constantly reminded of our own mortality. Unlike the spin of the earth which gives ample ways to calculate the time between daybreak and dusk, unfortunately we do not have the means to calculate how long of a journey we are given.

Time and time again we get reminded of this fact and yet time and time again, we, or rather, I, choose to ignore it. This, is what I call being stupid.

This is how my desk looks like.

Nothing better to kick start the day by coming to a still vacant office, dance and sing whilst making toast in the pantry, amble back to the desk (still singing) and slowly sift through work and prepare checklist for the day :)

I LOVE coming to the office in the wee hours, really. But it’s the waking up at an Ungodly hour that’s preventing me from doing it often hahaha!

P/s. Yeah I have tons of crap on my desk haha. Maps of China (where we import products), Africa (where we export them to), film negatives, polaroids, random quirky cutouts from magazines and stuff kekeke. What? Where’s my tons of work? All stuffed under the cabinet, baby! :P
