RoomsDB.net

I recall quite some time back, a friend of mine who’s a Malaysian studying in Singapore griped about how he found it hard to find room rental here in our country. According to him, classifieds and ads are rather sporadic, and agencies which assist in getting rooms usually charge a high fee for the service.

Sebastian, the ehem, good looking (picture under the cut) sole developer and “team” behind the non-commercial http://singapore.roomsdb.net, too faced a similar issue when he was an NUS student here a few years back. However, unlike my friend, he decided to create a change by providing a solution at his own cost, aiding throngs of others who faced the same situation.

Making Money With Advertlets.

By now, if any of you have never heard of the above blog advertising agency, then I suggest you crawl out of that dank dark hole you’ve been hiding under and welcome to the real world. (By the way, continue reading and you’ll be prized with something at the end which took me 2 and a half bloody hours to make hahaha.)

Yanni’s Treat.

Ok I’m like damn slow, since like the whole world blogged about it already. Can’t help it lah, I’m up to my neck with work and trying to customize my theme. I’ve given up trying to understand the PHP book anyway, it still spells gibberish to me after the fifth attempt.

I’ve resorted to surfing several blogs, like Uncle Sha’s and Mr Malique’s, viewing the page sources, checking out what I like and from there it was a simple trial and error method in getting the codes right. I have to say it is the most effective method, since I learn from my mistakes :)

So anyway,

Computers, Hostings and Blings!

Reviews on:-

Need your computer repaired, maintained or upgraded?

My computer, if counted in human years, should be due in meeting the Lord pretty soon. It has been loyal to me for the past few years, but lately, the amount of junk in it has pretty much slowed its movements - turning the computer on and to allow it to load fully, would take more then 5 minutes and even getting Mozilla Firefox to open would take around 2 minutes. For myself, who spends 90% of my life in front of the computer, it was a disaster.

[ Click here for Nike Vid ]

Seeing the Nike advert which just recently appeared on the blog, I decided to check out the whole hoohaa. Apparently, it seems that Nike.sg is hosting a challenge between Daniel Ong and Carrie Chong with regards to who can cover the most distance during the competition.

Quite an interesting competition I might add. You can even join a team and run ‘together’ with them! In fact, spurred on by this, I actually walked a total of around 10km yesterday with Fitree and Haikal! Hahha. More of that later on when the blog is stable. As for now, you can just choose to support one of the two celebrities by visiting the Nike website.

Personally, I’m on Carrie’s team. Not because of any feminist issues whatsoever, but because I think it would be a hoot to watch Daniel Ong doing some cheerleading stunts! hahahah!

Discovering Wealth Secrets with Miriguy.

As some of you would have noticed, there is this particular person who has been aiding me every single day (needs bloody patience to teach me, you know haha) in trying to understand the way money can be made on the wonderful world of the world wide web. I just knew him end of last year as he stumbled on my blog and added me on MSN. From that first chat, we hit off and became friends.

Review of The Mind Cafe (Prinsep Street).

The onslaught of computer/video games in the 21st century has pretty much infilitrated into most homes in Singapore, leaving minimal space for ‘old school’ board games.

I myself have to admit that my days of gleefuly buying houses at Mayfair or Park Lane (and even better, laughing manically when someone lands on them) became extinct upon introduction of more heart-pumping adrenaline games like Diablo 2, Halflife, Dungeon Siege or even Manhunt.

Therefore, when Claire invited me along to the Mind Cafe (Prinsep Street) for some ‘old school’ board game action, and mentioned that it will be free (Tuesday night is Ladies night!), I couldn’t pass up the chance as I couldn’t help but feel nostalgic. You know, like the feeling of discovering something which you had when you were a child, or revisiting a location you used to go everyday - that kind of feeling.
