Because you and I make one :)

Haikal and I scrapped our initial idea to head to the Science Centre and after much praying that the thunderstorm would cease, we were pleasantly welcomed at East Coast Park with such beautiful weather.

And even though we have cycled together a bazillion times before, we decided to do it again as it is just one of those activities that makes the both of us happy campers :) For me, cycling with him evokes back a lot of happy memories, the first of which was when I was cycling down the hill with him and Fitree, and suddenly find myself flying head first to the gravel.

Haikal, being my Bollywood prince, jumped off his bike and proceeded to wipe the blood/dirt off my face and THAT was when I went all crazy over him HAHAHA. So *ehem* anyway, today was a different cycling trip than all the previous ones because…

FAE lunch at Straits Kitchen, Hyatt.

After the big Christmas Lunch/Dinner with the company, the Chinese New Year lunch was slotted to be the next big event. Since the official CNY lunch was conducted at Tung Lok, which isn’t a Halal-certified restaurant, those who couldn’t join in were automatically slotted in to dine at Straits Kitchen, Hyatt, today :)

The only constant is change.

Thank God, I picked myself up pretty fast from being down in the dumps just 2 days before. Millions of thanks to the boyfriend who was with me during the moment I keyed in my online details, to Fitree who lent his listening ear, to the mom who was very supportive and to the others who sms-ed or called with words of encouragement. Not to forget, the comments and emails I got from you blog readers :)

As much as I have to admit that failure is a painful experience, I’d say that the realization that I have many good friends whom I can depend on is a very comforting anesthesia :)

G is for Games!

After taking a tremendously long break from our Alphabet Weekends due to financial constraints and the onslaught of the lazy bug, the boyfriend and I decided to resurrect the program. This time, we decided to make it an own time own target thing :P

To kick off the program, we got our best mate, Fitree, to be the invited guest kekeke. Thing was, we wanted to play some old-school games so naturally the more headcount, the better. Unfortunately, Sandy (Fitree’s girlfriend) was working in the day so she could only join in later at night.

Surprise Party, anyone?

At this point of time, I think it’s obvious enough to anyone reading my blog that I love my boyfriend very, very much. He lets me cry on his shoulders, he listens to me patiently when I snap at him during times of crankiness, his words tickle me till I snort with laughter. And as an added bonus, he still surprises me with little (and not so little) gifts up till this day :)

Without all this background knowledge, sometimes people misunderstand and accuse me of splurging too much on him. Maybe that’s true, maybe that’s not. But I feel that it is up to me on how I want to spend my money and spending it on him feels perfectly alright and really, to see him have tears of joy from all my hard effort was priceless (as cliche as that sounds).

Happy Birthday Ash!

Since Ashrithaa (also famously known as Indian Rhino) was the first amongst the three of us to reach the big Two-Oh, we decided to finally meet up after eons of time apart and God, how I miss my two buggers. To me, we’re the perfect poster girls of racial harmony; we get to make racist jokes about each other without the other feeling miffed. Heh.

Friends since secondary school, it’s safe to say we’ve been through much shit together (my fault, haha!). I guess, we kind of grew up together. From the two of them being really fat and chubby in the past and myself being the skinny and fit one, the tides have changed fast forward around 7 years later :P Seriously, everyone’s turning anorexic or bulimic these days and I’m eating 1 1/2 portions of rice for lunch. Buh.

Long time no see.

It was nice meeting you once again after months of not really contacting, Bestmatfriend :) The non stop talking from the time we met till almost 4 hours later reminded me why we kamchingho in the first place :) Chins up ya!

Escaping to the Theme Park.

I think it was 2 weeks back when the family and I decided to finally use our free Escape Themepark tickets; right on the expiry date itself. It was a long awaited trip for us since for countless weeks, Mum and Dad have been working even on Sundays. I miss days as such. Sometime last year, there was a period of time where every Sunday, we’d head out somewhere to spend time together.

Needless to say, with everyone’s busy schedule, such carefree days are far and in between. Even though I’ve officially declared my Sundays to be ‘Family Day’ for this year, I have a foreboding feeling that most of those would be spent in front of the television as the parents are, you guessed it, working.

Skate Scooter!

The other day, Haikal and I wrecked our brains to find an activity to do which would fulfill the letter F for our Alphabet Weekends and finally came out with - keeping Fit while having Fun without Finance HAHA.

After searching though the store room, I finally found my trusty old Skate Scooter (from YEARS back) which, no surprise here, has rust all over, gave it a quick wipe and met the boyfriend downstairs who was already excitedly zipping around under my void deck.

Blood runs deep.

I didn’t blog about this but actually during New Year’s eve, my Granddad had to go undergo yet another operation; something to do with his cancer. On almost all the days that he was in the hospital, the whole family on my Dad’s side would meet up collectively to keep him company and keep his spirits high.
