Happy 21st Claire Chan!

What was supposed to be an Italian dinner at Dempsey Road became an Indian dinner at Little India due to Birthday-girl Claire suddenly deciding that she was in the mood for some Tandoori chicken.
The evening started of in the worse of ways as the two girls were late for a bloody 90 minutes, leaving me to wait at the MRT station like an idiot as they kept saying ten minutes… ten minutes… only to arrive an hour later.
But once we met and I cooled off for a bit, the three of us chatted like only old friends could and headed to The Tandoor (Tandoori Restaurant), a North Indian restaurant located on the first floor of Mustafa Centre, which was highly recommended by Ashrithaa.

My take on The Tandoor is that the bulk of the $70 we paid to have the above dishes were meant for the service that the restaurant delivers, because the food was lacklustre. Save for the last (measly small) prawn dish, I have tested better versions of the same dishes elsewhere which cost way, way lesser.
Even Ash had to agree, but she insisted that this could be a one-off thing as the previous time she went there, the food was really really good which was why she raved about it. She’s an Indian, so I guess she knows her food best ey? hahaha.

After barely filling ourselves with the small portions of food on the table, Ash and I surprised Claire with her presents – a Van Houten box wrapped in hot pink foil (economic measures hahaha) filled with a customized Tshirt which we hired a designer for, a birthday card which I threw together (lol at back of card which was Ash’s idea – us in Simpsons!) and a $50 voucher for Charles & Keith as Ash didn’t have time to shop due to her exams.

With blank places still waiting to be filled in our tummies, we headed out into the busy bustling streets and settled at Sakunthala’s, which in my opinion, had good food at much affordable prices :) I think so far on my list on places to gorge on Naan is Al-Ameen and Sakunthala’s. Anyone has any other suggestions?
So after more eating, we ended up touring Mustafa Centre as Claire had never been in it (woman got so excited she spent close to $50 on God Knows What) and then headed home sweet home :)
Happy Birthday, Claire Chan! The day one stays young is the day pigs can fly!
P/s. Catch up soon to talk about your Hong Kong trip, hmmkay?
