Saturdays in School.

Now tell me – Who in the right mind will wake up at an ungodly hour on a Saturday morning and willingly spend half the day at school? Who, instead of choosing to roll about in comfortable comforters, excitedly bounces around the house getting ready and pesters his still snoring girlfriend to get ready?

Who else but… *drumroll please*… Haikal Ab Hamid aka The Boyfriend!
Since the two of us ran out of ideas and not to mention, cash, we decided to do something that will cost us practically nothing save for food and transportation fares but will still give us something to get excited about. We cracked our heads and finally decided to head to his school, Ngee Ann Poly, and hell yeah were there so many interesting things to do!
We started the day handing in his homework, proceeding to the newly opened Makan Place for a round of awesome waffle ice cream and as you can see above, played basketball for a while with a rented ball under his student ID.
We were practically behaving like small children during PE classes – running to and fro, throwing the ball around without much consideration to anything and giggling at every silly move that the other made. Needless to say, an hour later we were both stinky, sweaty and 10 000 times darker, but it was all in the name of good fun :)

To cool ourselves down, we then headed to the library where Haikal got a chance to play with my brother’s KORG Kaossilator – what I call, the magic music machine. That small yellow silver thingamajig, for Haikal, has got to be one of the things Heaven has created specially for him (next to Mustafa Centre).
The Kaossilator in action:-

We later had lunch at Al-Ameen before I headed home to clean my crib as Mum was recuperating from her mini-operation, afterwhich I promptly fell asleep from all the exercise, only waking up at 7pm to get ready to watch Kumar in action heh heh heh!
That will be for tomorrow’s entries baby! Right now, it’s time to watch Obama get sworn in as the next President of the United States. From the looks of things, it’s like they’re having a huge concert with big names in attendance, instead of a scruffy political affair hahaha.
Like I have read somewhere, this will definitely be the highlight for him, because come tomorrow, when all the brouhaha has died down, the realities will sink in – that he has just inherited a world with 1001 problems.
I really, really hope he manages to pull out of Iraq quickly and efficiently, as well as increase pressure on Israel to stop the Gaza Strip blockade and apologize / make up for the inhumane acts that have been committed.
War is never, ever the way to solve anything. Because the people who end up dying and suffering in one way or another, are the innocent citizens who just want to have a complete life. My name is Faddy and I am for World peace, yo!
