My Threadless Ts Are Here!

Posted: December 31st, 2008 | Author: faddy | Filed under: Sponsored | Comments Off

Imagine my surprise when barely 10 days after ordering the Threadless Ts from GimmeGimmeSprees, Ari (the guy who co-owns the site; the other owner is his gf) gave me a call and told me that they were all ready to be picked up!

This, even though my order came on the usually busy Christmas season where delivery of stuff is usually delayed (trust me I work in a shipping company haha!). The last time I ordered something from the US of A, it took 3 weeks for the product to land on my lap, accounting for delays from the ordering agent.

With GimmeGimmeSprees on the other hand, I can say that I really love the service Ari and his gf gave (fast fact : the proceeds from this project of theirs go into their wedding fund. HOW CUTE!).

They gave professional invoices, email updates on the location of the goods and even reassured me that they’ll try their best to pass me my order before the 3rd, as Haikal and I planned on wearing the couple T together to celebrate our Monthsary (hehehehe).

So yeah, I give 5 out 5 for my first dealings with GimmeGimmeSprees, which is why I am writing this review FOC :) Go check out whatever sprees they’re having now mate!

P/s. Contrary to the above picture, no, Ari is not a cheekopek bawah block ha ha ha ha!!

My Kind Of Vehicle.

Posted: December 31st, 2008 | Author: faddy | Filed under: General | Comments Off

I guess everyone has their favorite kind of transportation, from roaring red Ferraris to sleek yellow Lamborghinis but personally for me, it is the vintage vehicles that make me all gooey and wide-eyed… especially the likes of Vespa Scooters and Volkswagen Buses (specifically the Type 2).

Seeing that the chances of me being given permission by the parents to ride a Vespa scooter or attain enough cash to get my hands on a Volkswagen Bus is akin to me getting crowned Miss Universe (never in this lifetime or the next), I have decided to make myself feel a wee bit happier by starting a miniature models collection!

Model #1 for my collection is the above Volkswagen Bus, which has doors and windows that can be opened and is in the perfect colors that I want! I have been carrying it around with me almost everywhere and am still searching for a perfect name for it :P

Next up for my collection is a not so miniature remote-controllable Volkwagen Bus at Mustafa Centre which retails for a whopping $139. My jaw practically dropped to the floor when Haikal pointed it out to me, and if not for the fact that it was in glossy purple (what a color~), I would have brought it right away.

So, what I did was get Haikal to take the box away from it’s prime spot at the top of the stack of remote control car models, and stuff it away somewhere in the middle area so as to hide it from the view of the general public wakakakaka! Last one lei, cannot risk it!

So if by the time my bonus comes in and I head to Mustafa Centre and realize that my dream car is missing, I know that one of you has it and I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN!

Three People I Appreciate Today.

Posted: December 30th, 2008 | Author: faddy | Filed under: General, Love | Comments Off

(In narrative sequence)

For telling me an insanely long but interesting story at 630 in the morning because he thought it would make me forget the troubles in my head.

For hanging on the phone with me throughout lunch and thus accompanying me as I was queuing up to withdraw money, queuing up to buy food, queuing up to get into the lift, while eating – all this while I was grumbling and complaining about the 101 things under the sun due to the particularly bad day I was having.

Also, for later insisting on accompanying me collect my Tshirts and send me home even though today is his designated stay at home day… “Sebab I sayang you!

For making me smile as I was going to work through the exchange of SMS we had, and for buying for me Nasi Pulut Ayam for breakfast two days in a row because she knew it would cheer me up very much. Also, for clearing the path when she saw I was stressed up completing my work, and for crapping with me when she saw that I was getting too stressed up.

For layaning my whining about a certain someone, and then suddenly calling me at around 2pm telling me to go down to my office lobby, where she received me with a big hug and grin, and a huge chocolate muffin from Coffeebean (hey it rhymes!) – just because she too felt that I needed some cheering up. Totally made my day, woman!

* * * * *

I don’t know what I did to have deserved these people as friends (or boyfriend, in Haikal’s case), but whatever it is, I am thankful for every single moment that I have been blessed with them. These (and a few others, of course) are the people who have seen both my good and bad sides, yet chose to stick by me and make my life the colorful one that it is now, and definitely easier for me to carry through the tough moments.

There are many reasons why I think I don’t deserve friends like you kids, but I will make a conscious effort to be a better friend to you in 2009. Perhaps the fact that I will be busier what with work PLUS school going on will make it even harder for us to meet up, but maybe I’ll think of ways in which I can make up for the lost time :)

Much MUCH LOVE!

Yes.

Posted: December 30th, 2008 | Author: faddy | Filed under: General | Comments Off

Recently I managed to catch the film Yes Man with the boyfriend. After all the laughing and clapping in the cinema with the other film-goers, as I walked out of the theater, the message behind the film finally sunk in my head and I felt a tad disappointed with my own life.

I do the same things in and out, I settle myself with the basics and I say No to many things in life which might have made it more colorful then it is right now, on the basis of things might not work out.

Perhaps if I stopped being so scared and just say Yes to a good opportunity, things might be better? Haha, that, I will never find the answers to unless I actually start saying Yes. And try I will in 2009 :)

Nomad Day Out.

Posted: December 29th, 2008 | Author: faddy | Filed under: Dear Diary | Comments Off

Since I had pretty much no plans at all for Christmas eve (surprise surprise!), I beeped Nassy and Mik to ask if they could spend the rest of the day with me and I guess it was by pure chance that both of them had no plans for the night too!

After checking out the newly opened National Geographic store at Vivo (uber cool but at cut-throat prices) and Mik’s lenses at Peninsula (also at such prices), we pretty much had no plans or ideas whatsoever. Thus, as per usual Nassy +  Faddy protocol, we let our stomachs do the talking and walking.

Having a craving for Bakerzin’s macaroons (this after a hearty lunch at Banquet), the three of us headed down to Millennia Walk only to be disappointed by the news that they were all sold out. HOW CAN MACAROONS GET SOLD OUT?! There’s always a whole bunch of leftovers over at Taka and Jurong Point outlets man *slaps forehead* The atrocity of it all.

Undaunted in our quest to satisfy our sweet tooth, we made a detour into Starbucks and ordered the likes of coffee and cakes, spending the next couple of hours just talking and laughing about a million topics known to man.

Since Nassy had just returned from her family holiday to Kuala Lumpur and she had quite a number of stories to share, we sat there for quite a while being the willing recipients to her vacation tales.

The one that I can still remember and chuckle about currently would be when her family car was stopped by the Malaysian Traffic Police for making a sudden turn which was essential else they lose their way. The policeman who stopped them asked for a RM100 bribe, and after her father gave 101 excuses (I have many mouths to feed, I have no small change etc), the amount was reduced to a pathetic RM20 haha!

But that’s not the funniest part. The funniest part was when their car finally was given the green light to drive off, they were greeted by a huge signboard barely meters down the road saying “AVOID BRIBERY!” Wakakaka the irony of it all :)

On a side note, I think it would not come as a surprise to me if Mik becomes a regular in this clique, as Nassy has been inviting him for quite a number of our outings, and I find myself getting comfortable with his presence.

Although he may seem a tad on the quiet side, I think he is slowly warming up to our zany antics and I can see that he is making an effort to blend in by EATING with us! Hahaha! I remember the first time we went out, he kept not wanting to eat by saying that he is full, but for this outing, he actually ate at ALL the places Nassy and I ate at!

Very proud of you, young man!

Oh and I found another Starbucks cake that I like – the Chocolate Amer. After the barista heated up the cake and it melted in a very tak selera way, the three of us were quite apprehensive as to how it was going to taste. However, one bite was all it took to make us like eating it despite it’s appearances. As usual, the lesson to learn here, is to not judge a book by it’s cover hahaha. Go try it :)

We left Starbucks when dusk arrived, only to discover that all these while we were inside, it was actually raining outside (btw don’t you guys notice the rain these past few nights look like snow?). Feeling a need for something warm and toasty, Nassy and I followed our stomach radar into Killiney’s at Marina Square for some bread, eggs and good old fashioned teh-o.

I did not quite like the toast and the eggs I got, but the teh-o is fine, though I admit I won’t be visiting that outlet anytime again soon :) I think Yakun Kaya is still the best in terms of toasts… ok maybe it’s a tie between Yakun Kaya and that toast shop at Esplanade’s Makan Sutra.

Seated at the corner, we talked about pasts relationships and laughed at each other, before heading off to Times to find books (ok I must admit the bookstore was my idea, though I did not manage to find the book I wanted). Since there weren’t any good ones for sale, we proceeded off into the night to send Nassy off and get home sweet home :)

Thanks for accompanying my lonely day, guys!

Frustration.

Posted: December 28th, 2008 | Author: faddy | Filed under: General | Comments Off

I am feeling very pissed off with a certain someone right now and let it be known that if I like you and yet you still managed to get me pissed with you, that says a whole damn lot about how I am viewing the situation currently.

It is one thing to have stood me up and only inform me that you cannot make it when I go around looking for you (several occasions at that), but it is another thing altogether to belittle my worthiness to you. Although you retracted it later, the very fact that you mentioned it screams that it is a thought in your head.

I just cannot wait for all of this to be over and done with. For now, I just need to get a cuppa Teh-Susu to soothe my strung up nerves. SO. DAMN. ANGRY.

What makes me proud to be a Singaporean?

Posted: December 28th, 2008 | Author: faddy | Filed under: General | Comments Off

Many a times I question myself as to why I am still in this small little red dot on the map, what with its overbearing stance on an education based on examinations, soaring GSTs coupled with ministers’ payroll being on the hike and so on and so forth. Why stay here, when there’s greener pastures elsewhere?

Bibik Turns a Year Older!

Posted: December 28th, 2008 | Author: faddy | Filed under: Dear Diary | Comments Off

My best maternal aunt, Bibik (Anz’s mom), turned a year older! Although I only knew of her party at the eleventh hour, I shuffled my plans around a bit so I could attend it. Bibik has brought countless smiles to my face with her nonsense, so I guess the least I could do was to attend her mini-get together :)

Nothing much to talk besides the above, so tada! Pictures :)

The Birthday Lady!

A round of prayers for a better future for all :)

Sharing a birthday cake with another aunt, Wak Pah, also a December baby.

The besty couzy I can’t live without.

Working together to create wedding gifts for Kak Tikah’s (Anz’s elder sister) wedding in February.

My mother the Ninja.

Tres cute, no?

Cigars Anyone?

Posted: December 27th, 2008 | Author: faddy | Filed under: Love | Comments Off

One of the gifts I got for Christmas was a box of chocolates which looked so much like cigars, that I only realized they were chocolates after tearing open the inner packaging.  To offset feeling so silly about myself, I decided to play the same trick on the boyfriend so that instead of laughing at myself, I can laugh at him! (Girlfriend contoh + mithali.)

I set up the scene pretty good I think, by telling him that I got the cigars as Christmas gifts and perhaps we should try it out  (in line with my notion to try everything at least once) to see whats the brouhaha all about. After a few minutes on the line, I got him hooked line and sinker, and I think in ways he was more excited then I am!

So one fateful night, whilst seated at a bench after having our dinner, I threw in the bait and laughed my heart out (inside) as I saw him make a fool of himself. I watched his grin as he toyed with the box, his eyes straining to read under the dim light, and listened to his soliloquy:-

Wow this looks expensive! I have never tried one like such. Is it legal in Singapore? Made in Swiss? Is it imported? Will I get fined if the police catches me smoking one of these? Hmm… So how do I open it? Oh wow this is cool!

*Smells chocolate packaging*

Hmm, how come there is no smell? Nevermind. I cannot wait to taste it seh Bie, thanks so much for sharing it with me! Ok shall tear the wrapper now – you tearing yours? We do one each la, don’t share. If cannot finish we throw away.

*Tears wrapper*

Ooooh- eh wait! BIE! THIS IS CHOCOLATE!!!!

Wakakaka the look on his face was priceless, as is the picture you are going to have in your head of me rolling around the bench unable to control my laughter. Of couse when one plays such a trick one cannot expect to get away scot free, so I will be paying my dues pretty soon enough :)

Indoor Bbq at Faddy’s.

Posted: December 26th, 2008 | Author: faddy | Filed under: Dear Diary | Comments Off

As Kimmy was pestering us for a BBQ since it had been a long time since we had one, and I wanted to do something indoors as I have not been feeling well (as of the whole bloody December), we compromised and planned for an indoor bbq at my crib.

Lawa rambut, Kim? Klua camp pon masih nak pakai camouflage?

Joined with Baby, Nassy and Mik (Introductions : Mik is Nassy’s friend who has become my friend after we were introduced a month back. He is currently single. Say Hello Mik!), we began the day at Jalan Bahar’s Sheng Shiong which pretty much sucks.

I don’t care if they have instant Kang Kang Noodles (for those who don’t have time to visit Bomohs), or cheap prices. Which rightful supermarket does not have STINGRAY?! This was the second time I went there to get stingray and was let down. TET! PANGKAH. Prime market lagi best! (Promote kedai mak jap wakakaka)

After rounding around the place for approximately one hour (Don’t get me wrong, it’s not big at ALL. We were just indecisive on what to get), we headed back out into the hot hot sun…

… and into the coffeeshop next door for some drinks before we begin the 3 bus stop hike home. At this point of time, I was pretty much sapped out of 75% of all my energy as my temperature had increased rather drastically. (Even the moment of happiness when I found out my bonus money was in only managed to quell it for mere minutes).

Chef Kimmy thinking of what to cook.

Dropping ingredients – Caught in the act of littering. Saman limaploh sen!

Baby kena kick out of the kitchen. Kesian dia sorang-sorang atur pari.

After a trip to Prime Market to get the compulsory Stingray, we headed back home and started cooking. Well, make that only Kimmy and Nassy who started cooking hehe! Haikal and Mik were off doing more logistics, whilst I was rendered useless as I felt so damn bloody weak.

Totally felt like popping some pills and leaving them to their own devices, no kidding :/

And so the BBQ began, and they ate, whilst I tasted food and had my head floating around the room.

Roar?

Mik must be wondering what he has gotten himself into haha.

Ok maybe not. Dia pon dah jadi gila skali.

Sayang Haikal and Fondue.

Marshmallow Monster.

Faddy dah nak pengsan tu.

Trying to impress them with my drawings, tapi tak menjadi. Jadi bahan ketawa ada ah :(

Kimmy my BestManFriend!

The kids left my house at around 8pm, after a round of board games and talking cock session. The moment the last pair of feet stepped out into the corridor, I found myself popping three yellow pills, collapsing on my bed and waking up only at around 2 pm the next day hahaha!

Love the day, kids :) Hopefully the next time we do something like this I’m going to be feeling much much better.
