So long and goodbye :)

Many old blogger friends have also come and gone, making me view blogging as perhaps a transitional phase in our lives. Perhaps we need blogs in our teens and as we make the transition from school to work, but as we shed our skins and become working professionals, we tend to leave our blogger personalities behind. - Ridjal (Podah.com).

I guess both you and I have come to a conclusion that I have been a rather fickle blogger these past few months. In no way will I contest that opinion for even I accept that very fact. Five years ago, I would have no qualms in spending hours jotting down my thoughts and emotions. Today, things have changed.

Blogging no longer gives me the kicks like it used to, and I am no longer that interested in actively engaging myself in online communities. Likewise, an increase in statistics or monetary pay-off does not leave me with a sense of satisfaction. Thus, due to all of the above and so much more, I have decided to end the Fingersdontfing.com that all of you have come to love/hate.

I could have just left my last entry as the one before this, but because throughout these five years I have made numerous friends and acquaintances whose only means of ‘catching up’ with me is through this site, I feel that I should say a formal goodbye to everyone. After all, no one likes to be left hanging, yes?

(BTW no, this is not a joke. I’m downright serious. So please continue read this lengthy entry for these are the final words that I have to say. Thanks aight!)

First and foremost, a big thank you to all my readers who have stuck around for all these years, and let it be stressed enough that I have benefited tons from your kind words and encouragements in the darkest of times. Many of you have seen (or rather, read) me grow up from the silly little adolescent I once was, battling on whether to be a poseur mod or a poseur punk, into this lady who’s still silly and little, but battling on more important issues that is life.

I cannot express enough on how each and everyone of you who keep coming back, have ever written me a comment, sent me an e-mail or beeped me on MSN, have brought at least a moment of happiness in my life. It might seem like an over exaggeration, but trust me, for a person who does not have much self confidence in herself, the help and concern poured onto me has made growing up a much easier thing to do. So, thank you so, so much.

I would also like to take the opportunity to extend my sincerest apologies if anything I have ever written has unintentionally caused hurt to anyone. This blog holds home to many of my opinions, and as human beings, no two humans can be on the same page on every single thing. In the expressing of my opinions, I might have stepped on someone’s toes but trust me, I have no intention at all to hurt.

In any case, I cannot recall any incident in which I have written something with the intention of hurting, but if I had ever done so, from the bottom of my heart, I am sorry.

Lastly, the reason why I am not pulling the life support for Fingersdontfing, is because this blog holds too much important memories for me. Love found, lost and found again, downfalls of friendships and the sowing of new ones, tears and joys. If Dumbledore has his pensieve, I shall have my blog :)

Also, the name ‘Fingersdontfing’ has long became a synonym to my own name, and to me, it would be a robbery of my own identity if someone were to buy the name over. Afterall, Fingersdontfing Petom does not sound as nice as Fingersdontfing Faddy, does it? Kekeke…

Because I love writing, I might find a place to write sometime in the future. But as for now, the curtains are closing after the final scene and I take my place back in the stands with all of you. I wish you all the best that life has to offer, and I hope you’ll pray that I find my peace.

So long, kids, and goodbye…

if blogging didnt exist, i doubt we’d be friends. maybe mere acquaintance but seriously, from the bottom of my heart, i think blogging made us friends, made us closer than friends and now, you are one of the important people in my life. thank you blog. thank you faddy.

i cant really remember when we started to be blogging friends but i know that we saw each other grow. falling in love, falling out of love, mending the broken heart, we were there to see all that. and all thanks to blogging. :)

take good care of yourself okay? insyaAllah when kimmy books out, we’ll meet again for a meal. and i really hope everybody will be free to spend a longer period together compared to the previous meet-up we had. get well soon, sweetheart.

(i am still guilty cos i wasnt there for you just now. i am sorry.)

So long and thanks for all the fish.

It’s always been a pleasure reading. I realise that I haven’t been commenting (or blogging for that matter) much but please know that I’m always reading. And yeah, after blogging kind of takes its toll on you sometimes.

Peace, and best wishes.
