FAE lunch at Straits Kitchen, Hyatt.

After the big Christmas Lunch/Dinner with the company, the Chinese New Year lunch was slotted to be the next big event. Since the official CNY lunch was conducted at Tung Lok, which isn’t a Halal-certified restaurant, those who couldn’t join in were automatically slotted in to dine at Straits Kitchen, Hyatt, today :)

By 1145am we were allowed to leave the office and all 15 of us hopped into the different directors’ cars. 3 sexy, sleek BMWs and an Audi for the only lady director around, Celine. Siti, Jeannie and I sat in Cyrille’s car and it is only today, after working for 4 months, that I found out what a hoot that guy was! haha!
He practically drifted all the way, whilst we sang to Mika (great sound system) and joked about all sorts of things. I had anticipated a rather quiet journey to the restaurant, but then again, how can anything be quiet with Siti around, eh Siti eh? Kekeke…

Upon reaching, we were seated across 2 long tables; the management on one whilst the rest of the staff on the other. I would have personally preferred my whole department to sit together but alas, it is a company lunch after all kekeke. One can’t be too picky when it’s free! Like they say, beggars can’t be choosers :)

As for the buffet fare itself, it is in my humble opinion that I prefer the spread across the road at Carousel. I felt that the fare at Straits was very much akin to a… foodcourt. Hehe. Of course, the service was almost impeccable but really, I thought the food was so-so. Also, the dessert area was rather sparse as compared to Carousel’s.
BUT then again, the rest seem to love it so much (especially the Indian food, which I didn’t try, so maybe that’s what I’m missing) so errr yah :)

It was less then 2 hours later that the big boss asked for the bill and suffice to say, I knew I could stuff more food down my ever expanding tummy but oh wells, we were eating into office hours hoho.
And thus, the lunch concludes with another crazy ride back to the office in Cyrille’s car, this time singing along to Club-by songs courtesy of Siti and joking about getting Toyboys and Indian lovers kekeke…
La di da. I love my colleagues :)
