For a while now I have been having very interesting lunch conversations with my fellow colleagues. As such, lunch was always my highlight of the day during work hours (isn’t it everyones’?). Over the varying spread of food, our table was the source of roars of laughter or heated debates as we threw stories and experiences around. Undoubtedly, I have to admit that many of the stories and new found wisdom stuck in my head rooted from these precious daily talks.
Although it is true that our age gap is rather considerable, what with 5 of them already in their 30s and myself barely entering the realm of the 20’s, the chemistry is present for sure. Not to mention, the fact that all of them are essentially young (and dangerous, heh) at heart and that their memories of their teenage years are still fresh enables us to communicate easier and not be at loggerheads on multiple issues.
At this point of time, I think it’s obvious enough to anyone reading my blog that I love my boyfriend very, very much. He lets me cry on his shoulders, he listens to me patiently when I snap at him during times of crankiness, his words tickle me till I snort with laughter. And as an added bonus, he still surprises me with little (and not so little) gifts up till this day :)
Without all this background knowledge, sometimes people misunderstand and accuse me of splurging too much on him. Maybe that’s true, maybe that’s not. But I feel that it is up to me on how I want to spend my money and spending it on him feels perfectly alright and really, to see him have tears of joy from all my hard effort was priceless (as cliche as that sounds).
Having been in the workforce for a year now and having interact with an increasing number of people, it has dawned on me that there are many different kinds of characteristics at present around the office. Bitchy personas aside (because well, bitchy people are a dime a dozen these days), I am more interested in the spectrum of ways in which they carry out their daily workload.
I find it really mystifying that there are some workers who would reach work in the wee hours, leave work late into the night and even forgo lunch just to do up their documentations. Day in, day out, they would be found hunched behind the computer, piles of paper on their desks, fingers and hands working up a fluster. True, it may be that they really have tons of work to be completed but I feel that sometimes one should know when to draw the line.

I think the only reason why most of us don’t even try to make our wildest dreams and goals come true is because we think that such extraordinary things only happen to extraordinary people, which we, unfortunately, are not one of.
Easy to comprehend, even easier to say, but definitely a very hard concept to grasp and change.
Since Ashrithaa (also famously known as Indian Rhino) was the first amongst the three of us to reach the big Two-Oh, we decided to finally meet up after eons of time apart and God, how I miss my two buggers. To me, we’re the perfect poster girls of racial harmony; we get to make racist jokes about each other without the other feeling miffed. Heh.
Friends since secondary school, it’s safe to say we’ve been through much shit together (my fault, haha!). I guess, we kind of grew up together. From the two of them being really fat and chubby in the past and myself being the skinny and fit one, the tides have changed fast forward around 7 years later :P Seriously, everyone’s turning anorexic or bulimic these days and I’m eating 1 1/2 portions of rice for lunch. Buh.

If I were to summarize the trip in one word, I would, without a doubt, tag it as ‘disappointing’. Perhaps I can safely blame myself due to my high expectations, but really, to me it was a tad disappointing due to the location of stay.
Let me just explain here that when I heard that we’re staying at a “resort with a private beach”, I already had pictured myself frolicking along the shore, relaxing under palm trees after a round of swimming and jet-skiing. Thus, when I stepped foot into Harris Resort and found a small ‘private’ beach no longer then 15metres which we cannot swim in, and that the water sports are all expensive nak mampos (SGD$70 for 30mins of Jetski), I could practically hear my heart shatter hahaha.
The other day, due to some reasons which shall remain personal (for now), I broke down and cried in the cubicle at work, tearing and sobbing; the kind which made my whole body shake and moans escape from within my throat. Sensing someone entering, I had to compose myself and make a dash to the lift; red-eyed and faking smiles and conversations throughout.

Heh. I did make a mental note of blogging about Batam but no kidding, for the past few days I have been reaching home at 11pm without fail. I am kind of exhausted but no matter, this week’s left with only 3 days and I’m sure I can continue on at this pace.
Since I’ve cleared most of my plans for next week (cuz the Mom’s starting to notice hehe) it should be a more relaxing week, so… *breathes*
