Once in a while, I tend to try to be philosophical and many-a-times I have to admit I fail in doing so. I guess, in many ways, I’m not really the kind who can think deep intellectual thoughts, preferring to take in many things as is and not take life too seriously :P But today, today I, Faddy, shall try and draw a metaphor. (Is that even a correct term?! Wakakaka!)

What I’ve came up with is that - Life is flying a kite. Hahaha! That’s as far as I can get when it comes to being philosophical. Quite sad, isn’t it? Heh.

You see, like life, how high the kite flies is determined by the surrounding (the wind) and the decisions in which the person flying the kite takes. When the wind dips, the kite flyer could make a quick decision in making the extra effort to reel in or tug the string, making it easier for the kite to continue flying.

Or, he could just hold the string as it is, making it a more viable option that the kite will fall to the ground, unable to ‘float’ amidst the dying wind.

Likewise, whilst the kite is struggling to soar, the kite flyer’s decisions would either cause the kite to get back above ground, or end up at the back of someone’s backpack.

You could also say, that like life, the kite has its regular ups and downs, but once a person gets high enough and continues to pump in that much hard work, he’ll remain at the top, soaring like an eagle.

That said, it is bloody hard work to fly a kite. HAHA!

Close to twenty years living on planet Earth and yet I think that Happy Trippy day was my first day that I can consciously remember flying a kite. Grasping at the string, wind in my hair and sun pounding on my face, the exhilaration upon seeing the kite take off at first try (and HOW HIGH it went!) was unbelievable :)

All that books and movies with scenes of kite-flying paid off, ey? Who says reading’s and watching tv’s a waste of time? Haha. Of course, having the boyfriend there helped too. In many ways then one, actually (inside joke).

So now I think I’ve found another activity that I like to do. Looking back through, I think I’m pretty much an outdoorsy girl. Kite-flying will definitely be the activity for letter ‘K’ on our Alphabet Weekends, but this time the boyfriend and I will each have our OWN kites mwahahaha!

P/s. I love my photoshopped Happy Trippy Psychedelic fonts! So bright and colorful and happy and full of variety! Let’s see if I can stick to them, seeing just how much time they consume to edit :/ Hehe.
