Interesting MRT ride deux.

Filed Under (General) by faddy on 05-12-2007

With regards to my earlier post on interesting MRT rides, I think it’s time I come up with Part Two, seeing that that post garnered quite a bit of response :)

The following video that you’ll see after the break might probably shock you. Some of you might have seen it (or blogged about it), some of you might not. But all the same, because I think we all should learn from it:-

I have to admit that my initial action was to laugh and mock the woman screaming in the video. I know perhaps that’s a harsh thing to do since she had just gotten two-timed by her asshole of a boyfriend, but I really, really thought she had much bigger problems then that; herself.

In my opinion, she really could have handled it better. For one, shouting her head off over the phone in the view of dozens of strangers just screams of unwanted attention. Also, showcasing the worse of your characters AFTER being unceremoniously dumped (of which the whole cabin, and now 22 000 plus Youtube viewers, have realized, of course) just makes people go “No wonder she got dumped.

True, perhaps the poor woman got so agitated and upset (yes, I do know how she feels) that she loss all sense of control so for that we can give her some space, but in this matter, I feel that her friend failed in being her friend. I mean, seriously, is it so hard to drag the incoherent woman out of the train?

Seriously, if I were her, I’d be so SO thankful that the quality of the video was rather poor. I wouldn’t be able to bear the stress of being the laughing stock of thousands of Singaporeans, especially since I bet her boyfriend (now Ex, I assume) must be sniggering at the whole situation.

What do you think of her actions? Justified? Not justified? What will YOU do if you were in her shoes?

Wah, first time I hear something like this in Malay. And her Malay language is so flowery, fluent and powerful. But vocab limited haha. HAHAHA.

Questions:

1. Why is her goondu friend on the phone, too? Maybe the friend is the “pompan tu”?

2. Why does the goondu bf not hang up the phone? He must have some fetish for the word “pocky mark”. Chekedet and stohbeddi.

3. Why does the bigsized ahpek look scared? Haha, he’s the biggest in size there. So cute the ahpek, I like.

haha LTS you quite out of the loop hor? Actually I come across this behaviour many times, but not at MRT la. hehe..
1) That is SO MENGAROT. haaha
2) His fetish for pocky mark is what makes him cheat in the first place what hkeke.
3) You want his number? kekeke..

i had the same thought too. i remember telling my sister the girl’s got a really useless friend. if u had noticed, they passed a couple of stops. and i find it shocking that it didn’t cross her mind to bring her friend out of the train. if i were in the train with them, i’ll probably tell them to f’ck off. lololol.

LIke what some people said, maybe she’s scared of minah friend. Anyway I wouldn’t dare to tell her to f*ck off. I’d probably tell her friend quietly, I THINK.

faddy, im in office, yes its past midnight. i actually went to find a pair of earphones to listen to this. hahaha! yes, super kpo.

i ask you, whats the meaning of “pangkeng”? so many words i never hear before. and the “wom bah dey, wom bah dey, wom bah dey” in tamil in the background was such a laugh!

and answering your qn of what i will do in such a situation. if i was the girl, i would not bother. embarrassing enough to get dumped, must i lower my selfworth further. if i was a member of the public, i would take a video. hahaha! if i was the friend, i would walk out. but the friend, big boob but small brain lah so what to do. if i was the ahpek, would i step in? no, this minah looked like she’s capable of pulling her slipper off and smack my head with it. if i was a non-malay commuter who could not understand malay, i would have cursed myself for not studying the language. this one is shiok stuff. cannot bluff. kau kat mana lah, kat pangkeng..

ei ei, faster tell me what’s pangkeng, you must tell me or i wouldn’t be able to sleep.

Anyway, I hope you received my sms pasal pangkeng kekeke. And yes I’d agree with not shouting in public, but I wouldnt walk out if i were the friend. Like rather bad isn’t it, leaving your unsound friend like that? :/

Honestly, I do not find this video entertaining in any sense. While she could have handled the situation better (both the lady and her friend) and saved other passengers the pain of enduring the loud ramblings, do you think what you have done is right too?

It is devastating enough to be dumped by her boyfriend, how would having this video posted on the net help her? She was probably too distressed then to think of a better way to handle this. I have no idea what time this took place, but she may have been rushing to work or an appointment too and hence did not alight at any stations.

In any case, if you expect her to handle her emotions in a more appropriate way in such a trying time, why not expect yourself of a little more morality than to post this video which mocks her? It doesn’t matter if the video is blurry. In the least, you have time to reconsider your actions in a calm state.

Hello cherry, firstly I didn’t record the video and I did not mention anywhere that I did. Actually I found it on youtube. And yes, your points are valid, that we should give her the benefit of doubt. But I still feel that perhaps she (and all of us) can take this as a lesson, instead.

Cherry, I don’t think it is any wrong posting this video for the public to view as this outburst had taken place in public. And she’s a public nuisance, and to put it broadly, an offender since her colourful expletives were offensive to an average train commuter. Like a person who abused the maid or a cat/dog because he/she was too depressed and distressed, this is no excuse for behaving badly. If you want to talk about morals, then it is morally wrong for her to abuse the public, and it is morally right of the public to spread this, and treat it as a lesson about manners.

Nana – pangkeng, thanks. What’s “boncang”? I heard boncang also. Haha.

Let me just say this, men are not worth all that emotional turmoil. A b****** will always be a b******, and nothing can change him no matter how loud one screams at him in a train. So no point in going thru all that and displaying public embarrassment. See, now that the entire Singapore has seen this vid, it’ll make her look really bad and only a fool will want to date/marry her. She could have just moved on and looked for a better guy – there are PLENTY of better guys out there!

Good luck to her!

Haish, I guess she really must have felt some super strong emotions at that moment that she loss all control. I’m sure her bf (or ex) must be laughing away right now. Pfft. Anyway, it’s easier said then done I think. When I was dumped, I didn’t shout etc but I did cry tons and loss SO MUCH WEIGHT. forget tummytrim. Have a break up!

It must have been so loud that whoever filming this has whatever she said picked up so nicely on the video. I pity the people on the train. Their eardrums must have suffered. That’s why I always either have my Sony MP3 player with me, or some earplugs that are leftovers from my army days…

To your qn whether it’s justified or not – I’d say no. But given her circumstances, being emotionally weak and all, I think she wasn’t really sane to ‘do the right thing’.

I actually found myself mum while watching the vid. And my heart sank a bit. Breaking up is really a difficult thing to go thru, two-timed or not.

But I guess accepting reality and moving on with life is even harder yeah…

Thing is, when one is in emotional turmoil, they dont realise what they are doing. I dont think she’s an attention seeker. (but at the same time, I dont know her well enough) Even the most docile person can do murderous things when they have had enough.

Crime of passion.

hi faddy! I’ve been a silent reader of your blog but I can’t keep my silence anymore cause I sooo need to comment on this. I laughed in total disbelieve when I saw this video. It’s not as if my comments are going to help but this is what I would do if I were the

friend: run far far away from that raging monster of a friend and then convince the commuters that I have nothing to do with her or I’d give her one helluva tight slap on her face to snap her out of her raging fit and then run away

girl: If really my boyfriend was cheating on me, I’d go straight to his house and when in private, I’ll give him a couple of good jabs and front kicks… probably a couple of choke slams to finish it off.. and then dump him. I definitely wouldn’t be screaming my ass out like that in public unless there’s a cockroach in my pants

public: I’d be a good samaritan and advise the other commuters to stand at least a 10 foot radius away from the raging monster and her stupid friend or advise the commuters to perhaps evacuate that cabin.. hmm.. or join forces with the rest of the commuters to carry and throw those two inconsiderate people out the train at the next stop

:)
