Misspell thy name.

You know, as much as almost everyone around me calls me Faddy (both in real life as well as the online arena), there are times where of course, my real name has to be used. Like for example, at work. Although in my previous two call centre stints I managed to establish my name as ‘Faddy’ for easy pronunciation, in my current job somehow it’s already too deeply ingrained that my name is Nur Fadhilah.

That isn’t really the problem. The problem is, no one at work seems to know how to spell my name! Firstly,  for my email address, they registered me as ‘Nur Fadhillah’. For one of the programs, my name is ‘Fadillah’, and in another, it is ‘Fadila’.

And unfortunately, all these names cannot be re-registered. At first it was amusing but now I find it a tad bit irritating actually. I guess to me, my name represents myself and doing work and having it credited to another name (although in theory it IS my name, nevertheless) makes it very frustrating.

I make it a point to stress in all my e-mail correspondences the way my name should be correctly spelled, even including “Faddy” so that the suppliers/clients would remember it easily. Heh, yes, I am anal like that.

Would you find it irritating if people misspells or mispronounces your name all the time? I face it all my life and till this day I still find it irritating haha!

P/s. Yes, yes. I’m still in the midst of writing the Ubin entry. Too many pictures and too little time!

Hey Faddy, I found myself at your page from Ridj’s link (apparently he thinks we look alike- haha)

Anyhow, join the club! People mispronounce my name alllll the time. I got tired of stressing the fact that the bloody “R” has to be pronounced. I guess people are just used to saying it like “Fa-ha, Fa-han, Fa-hana”.

And even when I spell it out for them (”F”rance, “A”ust, “R”ussia etc), the idiot on the other line still pronounces it as Farah. *smacks forehead*

Unless everyone else is French, I can pardon them. haha

Hola Farha! Just a question, is your name JUST “Farha”? Cuz’s that’s really unique! Haha.. I think, like you said, most people have it ingrained in their heads certain common names like Farhana etc, so it takes a while for them to adjust to your unique name :) And pic please! I want to see if Mr Ridj dah potek ke apa ke… Hehehe…

Wanna know wats my name in Singtel Mobile account is? Its spelled as Noor Almin Sammdi. (and “Sammdi” isn’t dat close to my dad’s name) *hotaklu!*
