Makan Kakis Hold a Bbq!

Well, as you guys might have realized, the past few days I have been busy adjusting to a new lifestyle; reentering the workforce and then there’s also the really high fever which I was down with.

Thankfully the dust has finally settled. After 2 days of rest and being taken care of marvelously by PB, I went to work all keen to learn the ropes and so far, I think, it has been not bad. Heh, I say not bad, because on our first official training, my colleague and I jammed all 3 printers in the office and the big boss had to get down on his knees to repair it HAHAHA. Talk about first impressions *slaps forehead*

Ok more about that soon. As for now, I *finally* present the Makan Kaki photos and commentary (though I think most of you have seen it over at Shaz’s). Hehe.

On that long awaited Saturday, I have to say God was kind to us due to the fact that just as the time was nearing 6pm, the heavy rain clouds cleared the sky and out came the sun. Over at Shaz’s crib, Haikal and I helped out with the loading and unloading of goods and the small preparations.

One by one, other guests slowly trickled in. There were numerous new faces; people whom I’ve never met before like Zak, and yet it could be seen that certain others were missing, like Tuty and NH. Although it’s true that I was initially a bit sad that the latter two were not coming as they were *really* a hoot to be with the previous trip to Batam, again, it seems like the Makan Kaki magnet was still of quality as the new faces were all good company!

It was really heartwarming to see everyone helping out and contributing whatever they could. And yeah, who could forget the whole hoohaa that Shaz’s 3 tier chocolate fondue caused? After filling the machine up with awesome goodness, we turned it one and conveniently forgot to factor in the strong wind.

With that, the chocolate flew off the tiers and onto the floor and in a wave of panic, these were the results:-

*Situation 1*

Chocolate flies off.
Shaz : Eh Wind! Wind! Wind! *eyes wide open, jumping about*
Faddy : Wind! Wind! Oh no! Wind! *panics*
A few seconds later, chocolate still flying off.
Aidil : Eh you all shout “Wind! Wind”, then what, expect the wind to turn off? Off the switch lah! Haha!

*Situation 2 *

Chocolate flies off.
Random Person (RP) 1 : Ahh! Chocolate! Chocolate!
RP2 : Turn off! Turn off!
RP3 : Where switch? Where switch?!
RP4 : Turn the switch off!
Rp5 : Ahh the chocolate!

And so on and so forth hahaha. But yeah like they say, every negative situation has a silver lining, as I felt it helped to gel everyone together, what with the laughter and the clean up of the chocolate pool that followed suit. Kekeke. So anyway, after preparations we finally get to dig in; the star of the show being:-

The fresh, still cold, alive and kickin’ oysters! Ok, that was my star of the show as I’ve never tasted that thing live before. So one by one the tools were passed around and when it finally got to me, I put aside the tools and with my bare hands managed to open up the oyster! Muwahahaha. Ok fine, Haikal opened them up for me. Please, if strong men like Aidil and Fai had some trouble, what more this puny figure? Pfft.

So anyway, I finally tasted the fresh oysters which has been laced with a wee bit of lemon and sad to say, I didn’t like it. Meh, I know, how anti climatic hahaha. It was too salty for my own buds, but I guess to each his own as we all know Aidil loves em :) Nevertheless, I do love the fresh cockles!

Thus the night whizzed by us, sprinkled with conversations, laughters and really, really good food. I don’t really know how to describe food like certain food enthusiasts, but hell yeah I, or at least my tummy, know it when the food’s delicious kekeke :)

And yeah I seriously have nothing much to say other then we had fun eating and talking :) That’s what I love about the Makan Kakis and that’s why I can’t wait to meet up with them in KL. Hopefully, I’ll have enough cash by then -.-

To top it off, in case you missed it,

Happy Birthday, Aidil! Wakakakaka. And oh before I forget,

B is for BBQ :)
