In the midst of papers.

Pardon me for the lack of daily entries, kids. As most of you know, the A Levels season have just begun and I think it’s best if I lay low for a bit. The first paper was yesterday, and Alhamdulillah, I thought I did fine (which was what I thought the first time round too, so I’m not going to hope for anything haha).

The last paper would be on the 14th November, and till then I’d most probably update once every 3 - 4 days. Don’t leave this blog, ey!

On another note, whilst Haikal was walking me home from school yesterday, my slippers fell apart. I was resigned to walking barefooted but the boyfriend pulled me to a bench, forced me to sit and with whatever he had on hand, managed to somehow ‘repair’ them.

And this is why I’m blessed to have him :)

*Yawn*

Meet the mother session.

A 30 minutes solo talk with his Mom, laughters and stories about him sprinkled around, and finally, a hug, kisses to my cheek and a sweater from Mecca from the lady herself before I left his home. I could never have felt more relieved and happier :)

A simple gesture of Prata goodness for him for being my study buddy all this while could have never been more priceless :) *dances about in Nirvana*

Getting “Collection” money without shame.

The other day when I was Raya-ing at Kimmy’s (previous entry), the doorbell suddenly rang and Kimmy got up to check out the visitor. A short conversation through the gate later, Kimmy turned around looking perplexed and called upon greater authority - his father.

Raya with friends!

On the fourth day of Hari Raya, my house received its first guests in the form of my bitches from Commonwealth Secondary School. It’s been eons since I’ve last met Ashrithaa and Claire, and perhaps an infinity since I’ve last met Xiu Li.

It was a good albeit rushed meet up, one which had conversations and laughter over what Claire calls “Malay Lunch”. It was amusing seeing Ashrithaa gobbling down 20 or so quail eggs, Claire nibbling on 2 prawns and claiming she’s full and Xiu Li chomping down the whole bowl of Serunding (Grated Coconut).

And to meet these buggers are the reason as to why I had to rush off from lunch with my bitches. Haikal, Fitree and I met up first at Fitree’s crib (love your room, bro!) and were later joined by Sandy at Haikal’s.

First two days of Syawal.

Truth be told, I didn’t quite ‘feel’ totally Hari Raya-ish this year as compared to previous years. I daresay, the peak of my Hari Raya ‘feel’ was actually a few days before the day itself, when I was cleaning the house in preparation whilst listening to related songs spun by radio Djs.

Family Potrait.

Lovely shade of pink, don’t you think? Anyway, I pretty much screwed up my voicebox with the liters of carbonated drinks chugged down, one house after another. And, *pats tummy*, I think we need to usher in another round of self-fasting month pretty soon at the rate that my waistline is expanding.

Not my fault, really. It’s somewhat compulsory to eat at every house that serve food, lest the owner would feel disheartened. (”But I already ate at the house before this.” “That’s a different house! At least taste a bit? Very tiring you know I cook for you!“) And well, yeah, let’s just say my taste buds know when something tastes swell hohoho.

Meanwhile, the throat has started to itch, the nose is all geared up for a run, the eyes have started to tear and the temperature’s rising. I guess it’s safe to say the flu has come a knockin’ :/

Typical (so says Eddy) hemorrhage of pictures of people decked in pretty clothes grinning away up soon. Right now, I need my much needed rest. Salaams!

Salam Lebaran!

Just a silly video dedication to all my readers recorded with the help of Kimmy my bestmanfriend and the brothers who were manning the sound, camera and lights (cedebah). In case the audio quality really sucked, basically, I’m just wishing everyone a Selamat Hari Raya and to seek forgiveness if I have done any errs whilst blogging or replying/giving comments :)

Oh, and below is another video we recorded which to me, doesn’t really meet the cut (but hey! You can see me being Mak Joyah in it! kekeke!)

Livin’ it up in the backlanes.

Looking through the past few entries, I realize that I have been to Arab street to break my fast ALOT during the month of Ramadhan haha!

I think that place has secured the title as “Faddy’s favourite hangout” as of current time. Perhaps it is the lethal combination of the cosy atmosphere, good food, sheesha, great locations for photo taking and not to forget the fact that Sultan Mosque remains as my favourite Mosque.
