And You take me the way I am.

During this Ramadhan, I have been completing most of my Terawih sessions with the boyfriend’s company. Some of the nights, he would break his fast alone at the food joints around my area after his work (I had to break fast at home) and I would rush off to meet him once I’ve eaten. We’d take the bus to Masjid As-Syakirin, complete our prayers and then he’d walk me home.

And around once a week, we’d take the luxury of travelling elsewhere to do our prayers, like for instance, Masjid Sultan or Masjid Ba’alwi (thanks for the recommendations, guys!)

Personally, I love spending our short ‘dates’ this way. There’s something gratifying about praying ‘together’, exchanging religious knowledge, ’singing’ praises for God when we walk home etc. I love that he’s able to teach me new things with regards to Islam and that I am comfortable in letting him know that I don’t know certain issues. Somehow, I feel that it brings the relationship to another level. I can’t quite place how, or why, but it definitely feels like we’re going in the right direction.

And the walks are a definite plus. The nights are so beautiful these days, don’t you think so? Feeling ‘fresh’ after our prayers, we’d step into the cool night and begin our hike. Kind of like an exercise, you know? Haha…

Some nights we’d share silly jokes and stories and laugh the journey away, some we’d turn on the mp3 player and croon songs or have serious talks about the past, present and future, and at times we’d just walk in silence, enjoying the serene atmosphere around.

I have to admit the boyfriend is sacrificing so much of his time travelling all the way over to my end of the island, and for that I want to thank him so, so much :) I promise, after the A’s, I’d send you home daily if you want me to! Love you so, bie!
