Happy Nineteenth, Kimmy!

On the 8th of August 1988, my bestmanfriend Kimmy was born into the world and to celebrate his nineteenth birthday, Nassy and I decided to spring a little surprise for him. Unfortunately we were occupied on the day itself, so the celebrations were postponed to the coming Sunday, which was the 12th of August.

Earlier in the morning, Nassy had came over to my place so that we could bake a cake together. I have to admit, I was really pleased with the outcome as according to Kimmy, the cake was very goooood. It was one of the better ones I had baked hohoho!

So anyway beforehand, we had informed Kimmy that we would only be meeting at 12 noon, so knowing his sleeping habits, we predicted he would only wake up at around 1130am. After seeking partnership with his parents, we reached his home at 1030am, and wearing masks over our head, entered his room with the cake whilst singing a birthday song wahahahha!

As you can see, Kimmy was dressed (or rather, not) for the occasion. HOT SHORTS YO! Hahahhaa. Turns out we were as surprised as he was wakkakaka. His parents, however, were chuckling at the back, saying “Ah see lah, want to surprise him now you guys also surprised! hahahha!”

After the poor bugger got dressed, we had a mini cake cutting session, and Kimmy’s mom was gracious enough to supply the empty tummies with some Mee Goreng. Thanks Makcik! The three of us just mingled around for a while, still laughing over the incident which happened a few minutes before and finally we let Kimmy bathe, and afterwhich,

We blindfolded him and stuffed a set of headphones in his ear blasting music at top volume, afterwhich leading him to the awaiting taxi downstairs (ehem, holding hands was a necessary cuz the bugger kept walking sideways when we led him by the shoulder.).

Somehow managed to squeeze him inside the cab without getting his head bumped and off we went. The bugger was really seriously smiling all the way in the cab seh, kind of freaky to look at hahaha!

So finally we reached our destination – Sentosa! Nassy and I noticed that Kimmy was really stressed up for the past few weeks, so we decided to bring him somewhere where he can just relax and let lose of his gripes. An added bonus which we didn’t think off was that he managed to meet up with all his ex colleagues, so all was good.

Whilst the two were busy chomping down food from Coffeebean, I excused myself to the ladies, but instead sneaked away to get Luge tickets, and whilst we were walking down the slope, managed to surprise Kimmy with the tickets and since it was his first time doing it, he was SO damn excited can? Hahahha. (That was one LONG sentence haha)

One thing I regret was that it was a Sunday and thus the whole place was so crowded. The best part about luging, I think, is being able to race with your friends, but since there were so many tourists, I keep having to slow down to avoid nonyas or small kids. Uwek!

And the last surprise of the day? Telling him we’re getting ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s, but instead suddenly turning into…

Cafe Del Mar! Hahaha. The spastic grin on his face was so totally worth walking in the hot sun I tell you heh. I love getting and receiving surprises can?! :) Anyway Cafe Del Mar was all I expected it to be, and I’m so totally in love with the place now lah. hahaha.

We just spent the remainder of the evening lazing around on the big sunbeds, laughing and talking, playing cards, and watching the people around us. Basically, what we came to do, which was to chill and allow Kimmy some time to relax himself :)
