If you were born around the 1988 era, do you recall buying small black plastic bags from the mamak shops at the void decks when you were in primary school? The small sealed bags which cost fifty cents apiece would contain like SO many knick knacks inside, and every time I managed to buy one using my meagre pocket money, the anticipation of knowing what was inside would drive me crazy!
Looking back now, I realise it’s such a waste of money man! That fifty cents would have been better off spent on a bowl of noodles or something (and maybe I would be taller now). Instead all I got were random small plastic models of toys, or rubber balls or jigsaw puzzles and the odd keropok. Felt so cheated!
Fast forward to this modern era where mamak shops are a rarity and I can no longer find such black bags to buy, the next best alternative (which is even better) is Mr Malique’s Friday Box! Ok before I begin, I must stress one thing -

they still have the black plastic bag.. at old kedai runcit under the blk kind of shop.. and my cousin bought it and some silly stuff in it.. stupid je.. haha.. thank god i wasnt those who bought it last time..hahahaha..

i remember that 50cents bag too. but i dun quite like it. cos i always get useless stuffs. i usually spend my 50cents + another 50cents buyin those cards with hongkong superstars on them from those mesen where you slot in coins and you have to turn the lever…get wat i mean? heheheee.
hahahaa you had that fifty cents bag too? i think i was lucky as i recall i kept buying them again and again. And I DO know that slot machines thingamajig, but one question… HONGKONG SUPERSTARS?! hahahahahha. i spent mine on Pokemon cards :P
