Making Money Through Blogging.

As most of you should have noticed, a couple of advertorials have been splashed across the blog – from the header, sidebars and even infiltrating the contents. I believe that I owe you guys at least an explanation, as I myself used to get agitated and turned off everytime I see blogs with too much of such stuff. And the explanation is simple… I want to earn doing what I love doing most, that is, blogging.

Some people become teachers as they love to inspire, others, musicians as they light up at the sound of music and so on and so forth. And in their respective careers, they get paid. And these small payments they receive aid them in improving themselves for the better, be it for their own life, or their career.

For myself, this blog isn’t free, I have to pay to keep it going. There’s the fixed costs of the hosting and the domain name, the variable costs like the internet access and I haven’t included the man hours burnt editing photos, jotting down ideas and penning (typing, rather) down those thoughts. I must say I don’t mind blogging for free, but if there’s ways in which I can cover these costs, why not right?

I first thought of the idea during the Wealth Creation Seminar I had with Freddy Gomez last year, and kept postponing putting up the ads as I thought it would be a waste of time as I didn’t have much readers and noone will click the ads anyway. I too thought it would be best to wait till my custom web design to be ready and release the two together, making it like a grand affair. HAHA! Bloody drama mama, I know :P

But for the past few days I realised that the number of blog readers I had was increasing and finally for a week, I had a consistent number of 200+ visits a day, up from the 100 – 170 daily visits in April. Yes, I do know that this is nothing compared to Xiaxue’s 20 000 readers nor Unc Sha’s thousands, but to me, it is an improvement horkay :) Alhamdulillah.

It finally slapped me in the face that earning money from my blog is not an overnight thing, but rather a long ardous process of learning and trial and error, therefore I should start now or never.

Therefore to record my process, I have added a new "Money Making"category in this blog, in which I intend to record down details of my journey. Bear in mind right now I know very little about succeeding in this arena, but God Willing, things will improve when I start learning and implementing what I learn. You can join me in the process! I’ll be sure to include tips and stuff :)

Anywhoos, I hope to receive my first paycheck from any of the advertising companies by December this year. Will I succeed or will I fail? Jeng Jeng Jeng~ Stay tuned to find out hahahaha. Wish me luck, comrades!
