Must Save Money.
Posted: April 12th, 2007 | Author: faddy | Filed under: Dear Diary | 18 Comments »NEWSFLASH! Results of the SYF thingamajig has been released. NONE of the JCs got Gold (much less Gold with honours), and JJC got SILVER!! Yay! NJC got bronze though wakaka.

I got such a shock seeing the remnants of my bank account that I’ve sworn myself off expensive or even mid-range restaurants until I get employed again. No more of such luxuries I tell you, no more (unless it’s a treat lah, then it’s a different matter)!
Thus, all the plans scheduled in my organizer for this week has been greatly scrutinized to include only low-cost activities, or even better, free activities. It’s been doing well so far, maybe I CAN live without my fine food, shopping and multiple movies or dvds :/

Yup, as you would have guessed by now, I shamelessly tagged along with the current JJC Malay Dancers to watch them perform for the Singapore Youth Festival. Actually I didn’t really intend on going, but after Peah’s whinings I gave in.
Haha, not that I didn’t want to support, but c’mon lah, I wasn’t officially in the Malay Dancers group last year, would have felt like an extra hahahaha. Ah wells.

We were not allowed to take any pictures in the hall, and security was much tighter then compared to the Esplanade Theatres I tell you. I daresay, that I was impressed with NJC’s contemporary dance performance. As for JJ’s, I thought we did pull it off well, so don’t fret kids! You’ll do just fine :)

The mood was rather sombre as the kids gathered together after their performance. They thought they didn’t do that well, you see. But, all signs of feeling blue evaporated as cameras began to get whipped out from bags. Heh, nothing but good old fashion camwhoring to save the day! In no time everyone was smiling and laughing :)
There were much more photos then the above lah, but some turned out bad while I just cannot be bothered to retouch or edit the rest. Maybe next time la hor, it’s 12:47am and my eyes are already half closed hehe.

One thing for sure, I really really miss the Malay Cultural Society days with the kids, doing all this Melayu stuff. I couldn’t dance for nuts, but I really cherish the times I spent in the dance room admiring their soft movements and choreography, wishing I could dance like them. Haha…
By the way, sorry hor I blurred some faces in the above photo! Fara, Peah and I wanted to take the above photo ONLY with the people we were close with back then but somehow after countless miscommunications, others came in too. Thus I have to resort to such a low handed tactic kekeke :P

After a budget lunch at Banquet with Peah, I met up with Claire and Ashrithaa to just hang out together. The initial plan was to visit the zoo, but somehow Ash cocked up the entire thing and we had to go Bugis as usual.
This time however, after the aimless walking around, Claire dragged Ash and I to the lan gaming shop under Bugis Junction for us to play this dancing game from 02Jam. I almost died, seriously. And so I put my $2 to good use by bloghopping wakakaka. It follows me everywhere I go, I can’t help it, really :)

By the time the hour ended, Ash and I had already managed to successfully kill Claire for wasting our $2. You know what’s her reason for dragging us there? “But I can’t play this game at home! I’m using a Mac!” Then get a PC, bitch! Hahaha. (Or maybe an emulator? I’m sure there’s such a programme right?)

Afterwhich, we gave a second attempt at making the walk from Bugis to Orchard. On our first try a couple of weeks back, we hopped on a cab merely 100m away from Bugis Junction wakakaka. This time, with determination, conversations and loads of laughter and camwhoring, we succeeded! Woohooo!
Haha, my camera skills still suck. I need to sign up for classes or something man. But it’s so expenssivveeee. Huargh! Must start googling for good tutorials or something~ If you have any suggestions help me out aight :)

Upon reaching Orchard it was the usual walking about, window shopping and food munching galore :) At 830pm I reached home (WOAH record early time), chatted with Momsy for an hour, and later on the phone with Is, and with Kimmy, and finally here I am blogging.
I’m damn sleepy and exhausted from all the walks I took with my babies today and the talks I had, thus pardon this rather incoherent entry heh. Good night sleep tight!

Hi there Faddy!
we found the turtle eggs by chance at the Geylang hawker centre cum wet market – the one opposite the public carpark and Tanjong Katong Complex. Behind the wet market is the post centre.
we bought them from a lone lady sitting on a plastic chair. she doesn’t even have a proper stall. lol.
try searching on weekends (from fri to sat). you’d have a higher chance of finding the eggs. =)
btw, i’m new to your blog. you sound like a very fun foodie! =) come to the Makan Kakis outing in June?
