The color plate was supposed to be grayscale - with color ranges from black to white. Haha, a bit like last year’s second/third day but what can I say since my brothers and father WERE wearing last year’s clothes wakakakaka..
Ssssh! Don’t tell anyone hor! Very paiseh like that! :P

After the Eid prayers and the morning feast of Rendang, Sweet N Sour Chicken, Lauk Lemak, Lontong, Ketupat and the ever so delicious Serunding (wakaka Eddyboi and Luthien I give you my salutations!), we headed off to our first house at 11am.

The thunderstorm and MULTIPLE traffic jams spread across the highways were irritating! Haha, kind of pity my brothers at the back of the lorry and the handsome mamats motor who were drenched from head to toe. Kwangkwang~

The first three houses we went to were all of Mum’s elder siblings. It was much easier last time, when the late Granny was still alive, as everyone would just gather at that one house. Now, the top few ranked elders would stay at their houses and the younger ones would visit them one by one.

The best and most looked forward to part of the whole day was of course visiting the Grannies’ place on Dad’s side. Hoho, since that side of the family still isn’t as hugeass as compared to Mum’s side, its easier to gel along with everyone and remember everyone’s names.
I hope when the teenagers (myself included) grow up and have children, the dynamics wont shift over to become like Mum’s side, where rifts and gossiping are aplentry. Pffft. Very leceh!
Ok, a gargantuan amount of pictures coming up! Turn off if you’re on dialup heh :P

The day went as of normal family gatherings; the chattering, the playing games, the watching TV. Haha.. Just that there were kuehs and hari raya dishes on the table :P The mums and dads (and an extra Faddy) were practically laughing for an hour non stop talking about how they tried to win each other’s hearts during their courtship days. It was hilarious!
“Yah lah last time I wasn’t interested in him at all. In fact, I detested him as he was too skinny and he kept pestering and irritating me!”
“Hahaha! And see! Now i’m like 3 times her size! Complain some more lah about my weight! Kekeke…”

It was a great day, which ended with everyone tearing during the asking of forgiveness. So touching! And the funny bit during that time was my granma.
After the grandchildren one by one took their turn asking for her forgiveness, she would (loudly) give them the standard prayer she gave everytime - be filial, studious and get a good job. However, when it was MY turn, she added,
“I pray you’ll meet a good man who will take care of you and you’ll get married to him.”
Waakakaka. So cute la my grandma. Maybe now she thinks I’m of legal dating age haha. Ohwells.
Anywhoos, thats all! I hope you guys have had a good 1st Day Of Syawal :)
